Eirik Fatland : BA of Design

Finally, I have a degree.

After having been an on-again-off-again student for the past ten years, I finally have a degree. I am now the equivalent of a BA of Interactive Media Design. Hooray!

This might not sound very impressive, but for me it is a first. Yes, I have successfully completed courses in philosophy and comparative religion at the University of Oslo, but the academic credits never added up to a degree - and, since the University system was changed, they never will.

Not only am I a BA, but the evaluation was so full of superlatives I was left blushing. Thankfully, it was not just the teachers who gave praise but also the external guy.

So that pretty much concludes my time in Kolding, at least for now. It's been three years of hard work, booze, small communities, good workshops, hard work and more booze. Most importantly - Kolding gave me something the Norwegian schools and university never did: challenge. At my first year evaluation, I was pretty sure I would flunk - so terrible did I feel about the quality of my own work. Remembering that makes this final evaluation so much more satisfying.
